Now, create a directory for your project. By the way, chances are you will NOT be using local documentation for Rails, as it’s all on the web anyway, so you can run this command instead: gem install rails –no-rdoc –no-riĤ. After that it installs ri documentation / RDoc documentation, and it takes quite some time (much longer than gems themselves), so be patient. In my case it installed rails and other related gems (in total 8 gems). It will not show any progress for some time, but if your HDD is working, it’s all fine.
